Referring to Bigden, Hawkshaw once said in an interview that "Alf was an amazing drummer; he could more or less put his hand to anything".〔(Interview with Alan Hawkshaw )〕 Don Lusher also commented that "It was Alf Bigden, then Ronnie Verrell.
